BWGC offering $20k grants to help disadvantaged women, families

Baltimore Women’s Giving Circle at the Baltimore Community Foundation is offering grants of up to $20,000 to nonprofits with a focus on helping disadvantaged families, including in key areas such as domestic violence, health services, housing, life skills, literacy/education, mentoring, and parenting skills.

BWGC helps disadvantaged women and their families by encouraging its members to participate in philanthropy through education, grantmaking, and other community-based activities, according to its Web site. The organization gave $300,000 in grants to 19 Baltimore area nonprofits in June, and has given more than $1.3 million in grants since its founding in 2001.
