Journey to Independence and Self-Sufficiency for Homeless Women and Children

Baltimore Outreach Services (BOS) serves homeless women and their children, providing emergency shelter, supportive housing, educational programming, health and mental health services, job training and employment counseling, and other services.

Many of the 250 homeless women who come to the BOS 40-bed residential facility each year have substance use problems, and physical and mental health challenges. Most have limited education and job skills. BOS aims to help participants achieve financial stability, and transition to permanent housing.

The Baltimore Women’s Giving Circle grant funded operational expenses, including salaries, and was used to expand job training initiatives, enhance life skills, and augment case management.
