Administrative Assistant Career Training Program (AACT)

The Administrative Assistant Career Training Program (AACT) trains underemployed and unemployed primarily African American women through a free 9-week certification program that includes classroom instruction, soft skills development, wraparound and financial stability supports, and an externship. AACT has successfully trained 114 people from Baltimore City and County, placing 94% of graduates in competitive employment. Potential employers identified the need for Administrative Assistants within their organizations and further helped put together the training and types of certifications that would be most helpful in gaining employment. One of the strengths of the program is the commitment to assess and manage potential barriers to successful employment for each participant, including transportation and childcare.

BWGC funds support general program operations.
