To provide a case worker within one hour to the bedside of a women identified by emergency department staff as a possible victim of domestic abuse. Because most domestic violence occurs at night or on weekends, DOVE workers are on call 24/7. DOVE also has helped train local police to assess potential lethality. When needed, DOVE provides emergency hotel stays, help obtaining a protective order, and a clothing allowance at a thrift store, with follow-up counseling and aid in finding employment.
