Sarah's Hope

To help expand capacity and services of Sarah's Hope, the largest shelter for homeless women and children in Baltimore,. The Sarah's Hope Mount Street facility, now a 75-bed family shelter, is undergoing renovation to expand to 150 beds this summer. The renovated facility will include family bedrooms, permitting fathers and boys over age 13 to live with mothers and siblings. The renovated shelter also will house a daycare program for children under age three, along with a Head Start program. The shelter provides services focused on helping women achieve housing stability, health and well-being, and economic self-sufficiency. About 97 percent of women using the shelter move on to permanent housing.
