Vehicles for Change - General Operating Funds

Vehicles for Change accepts donated cars, repairs them while training ex-offenders to become automotive mechanics, and awards the reconditioned cars to low-income working families. VFC empowers families with financial challenges to achieve economic and personal independence through car ownership and technical training.

By awarding donated and reconditioned cars to low-income working mothers, VFC supports women in their quest for better professional opportunities, higher wages, and increased independence. As car owners, these women will have many more job options as the location of their work site becomes secondary.

Baltimore Women’s Giving Circle grant for VFC was able to provide eight (8) eligible women with their own car, that among other benefits allowed the recipients to access a wider variety of better paying jobs.
