Food and Hunger Services

There are 16 farms and 10 gardeners in the Alliance, as well as 80 members who participate in farming activities. The farms and gardens are in central Baltimore – from Cherry Hill to Clifton Park to Reservoir Hill. The Alliance empowers members with participation in the SNAP/EBT matching dollar program, and a collective stand at Waverly Farmers Market. It provides seedlings, offers trainings and workshops and coaching sessions, along with soil testing, networking opportunities and ongoing support. Its community cooking demonstrations have attracted almost 500 participants per year.

Circle funds will be used to strengthen the Alliance's core mission of empowering community members – women and all in Baltimore City – to feed, teach and provide safe green growing spaces for their neighborhoods with urban farms and gardens.
