Reading Partners provides literacy support for Baltimore students who are reading below grade level. In order to do this, they recruit a robust and diverse community of volunteers, who tutor the children for 90 minutes/week. In the 2021-22 school year, Reading Partners Baltimore plans to partner with 16 Title 1 schools to tutor 385 students using both the online and in-person programs, as circumstances dictate
Funding from the BWGC will support enhanced Tutor Training for volunteers as well as events during National Volunteer Week, DEI Workshops, and activities in support of educational equity.
